Tim Benson in the BP Portrait Award 2012

‘Ninty-two years’ oil on canvas

Heatherley’s tutor Tim Benson has had a painting accepted for this year’s BP Portrait Award.

He says of his work “I strive to make an image that offers more than simple representation, rather something with an emotive quality that captures the viewer’s imagination”.

The exhibition will be at the National Portrait Gallery from 21 June to 23 September 2012.
