Paulina grew up in Krakow, Poland, but has been living in London since 2007.
She says of her practice ‘In my work I am interested in exploring internal states of my subjects. I often turn to portraiture as it gives me access to the many psychological aspects of human nature. I am very particular when choosing my subjects and take a lot of effort in accessing moods and atmosphere.
Each painting develops in a unique way, therefore I do not have a set formula for doing things. I see the painting process as an abstract response to the world surrounding me, becoming yet another attempt to mark our transient existence.’
